Pfister + Vogel, Leicester

Loft-style offices in a listed leather warehouse

78-80 Rutland Street was built in 1923 as the British headquarters for the American Pfister + Vogel Leather Company; the memorable facade of the Grade II listed building is said to resemble the firm’s headquarters in Philadelphia.

The building was first used for storage and administration by Pfister + Vogel; the ground floor is now back in use as offices and returned to the open plan layout.

Cast iron columns and internal brickwork have been re-exposed and are complemented by a collection of heritage furniture and recycled factory light fittings.
