Farmyard House, Leicestershire

Contemporary rural living around a sheltered courtyard

The three wings of the new house are arranged around a sheltered courtyard, a contemporary interpretation of the established English farmyard typology.

The house is carefully positioned between mature trees on the edge of a village, with views across the open countryside.

The site is close to the listed Norman church, therefore the dwelling has been embedded in the landscape to minimise its visual impact on the local heritage.
